Sleeping Giants, 2025. 4k video with stereo sound, 20minutes.

Sleeping Giants, 2025 depicts fallen trees lying in a narrow strip of woodland that borders the nuclear warhead storage and loading facility RNAD Coulport. The woods were sold by the M.O.D to Georgina Smith, a Scottish artist and activist, in the 1990s. For a time it became a temporary settlement and site for the pursuit of collective action. At first glance, the trees might appear to be dead but they are still alive, connected to the earth and growing.  Their cross sections display an arterial root system, sinewy and flesh-like, the musculature of an extant and defiant body.
